Pressure pumps, water tanks and irrigation in Elche
In many villas and country houses water does not simply arrive from the mains: it goes through a water tank (aljibe) or a well, a pump, a pressure vessel and a pressure switch. When one of them fails you are left without a shower, without irrigation or with a pump starting every minute. We check the whole system and get it working.

A real job: blocked irrigation timer
A garden irrigation system had stopped working. Inside the timer we found the inlet blocked with sand and a piece of brick that had got into the pipe during building work. We cleaned the filter and inlet and the irrigation worked again.
Signs something is wrong
- The pump starts and stops every few seconds
- The pump never stops, even with every tap closed
- Banging in the pipes when a tap opens or closes
- Pressure going up and down while you shower
- The pump runs but no water comes out
- The water tank empties much faster than before
The usual causes
Pressure vessel without air or with a split membrane. The number-one reason for a pump that keeps cycling. Quick to check.
Pressure switch furred with limescale or badly set. It does not cut out at the right pressure and the pump overworks.
Air in the suction. A seal or foot valve that does not close lets the pump lose its prime.
Buried leaks. A pipe losing water underground keeps the pump running and empties the tank. See water leaks.
Pool plumbing
We repair pool pipework, multiport valves, filter-pump connections and leaks that make the water level drop. If your pool loses more than evaporation explains, we test section by section to find out whether the loss is in the pipes, a skimmer or the pool shell.

My pump starts every time I open a tap, even briefly. Is that normal?
No. It is almost always the pressure vessel, which has lost its air or has a split membrane. Get it checked: so many starts burn out the pump motor.
Do you reach country houses on dirt tracks?

Is a variable-speed pump worth it?
In homes with several bathrooms or irrigation, a variable-speed set gives steady pressure, starts gently and uses less electricity. We tell you if it pays off in your case.
